Advertising Disclosure
Doghab is an independent construction knowledge and discovery platform.
Operating a website involves costs, and Doghab may generate revenue through advertising, sponsorships, affiliate relationships, paid placements, or other commercial arrangements.
This page explains how those relationships may appear on Doghab and how we separate commercial activity from our editorial content.
Display Advertising
Doghab may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising services, including Google AdSense.
These advertisements may appear:
within articles;
between sections of content;
in sidebars;
in headers or footers;
in other designated advertising areas.
The advertisements shown to a particular visitor may be selected automatically by the advertising provider based on factors such as page content, location, device information, advertising settings, or other signals permitted under applicable privacy rules.
The appearance of an advertisement on Doghab does not mean that Doghab recommends, endorses, verifies, or guarantees the advertiser, product, or service.
Advertisers generally do not control the conclusions of unrelated Doghab editorial content.
Separation Between Advertising and Editorial Content
Advertising should be distinguishable from editorial content.
We do not intentionally design advertisements to appear as though they are:
editorial recommendations;
navigation links;
independent product rankings;
research sources;
download buttons;
construction resources selected by our editors.
Where an advertising label is required, it should be presented clearly and in accordance with the requirements of the advertising platform being used.
Doghab does not encourage visitors to click advertisements as a way to support the website.
Editorial Independence
Commercial relationships should not determine the factual conclusions of Doghab articles.
An advertiser, sponsor, manufacturer, supplier, contractor, or other commercial party should not receive a favorable technical conclusion simply because it pays Doghab.
Our editorial conclusions are intended to follow the research process described in our Methodology and the standards established in our Editorial Policy.
Payment does not establish that a product is:
better;
safer;
more durable;
more cost-effective;
more appropriate for a project;
compliant with a particular building code.
Those conclusions require appropriate evidence.
Sponsored Content
Doghab may occasionally publish content that is financially supported by a company or other organization.
When commercial support materially affects how readers may interpret a page, the relationship should be disclosed clearly.
Sponsored content may be identified with wording such as:
Sponsored;
Sponsored Content;
Paid Partnership;
another clear description appropriate to the relationship.
A sponsorship disclosure should be placed where readers can reasonably notice it rather than being hidden in unrelated website information.
Sponsorship does not give a company permission to publish false, unsupported, or misleading technical claims through Doghab.
Sponsored Content and Editorial Standards
Commercially supported content may still be subject to standards concerning:
factual accuracy;
source quality;
construction safety;
product specifications;
disclosure;
misleading claims;
applicable regulations.
Where a statement represents the advertiser's claim rather than an independently established fact, that distinction should be clear when material to the reader.
Affiliate Links
Doghab may use affiliate links in some content.
An affiliate relationship means Doghab may receive a commission or other compensation if a visitor follows a qualifying link and completes a purchase or another specified action.
If affiliate links are used in a way that could affect how readers evaluate a recommendation, the relationship should be disclosed clearly on or near the relevant content.
The use of an affiliate link should not change the price paid by the reader unless explicitly stated otherwise.
An affiliate relationship does not by itself establish that a product is better than alternatives.
Product Recommendations and Affiliate Relationships
When commercial relationships are involved in a comparison or recommendation, Doghab aims to keep the research criteria separate from the compensation arrangement.
A product should not receive a higher editorial ranking merely because:
it offers a higher commission;
the manufacturer is an advertiser;
the seller has a commercial relationship with Doghab;
the product was provided without charge.
If commercial relationships materially influence the available selection or methodology, that limitation should be disclosed.
Free Products, Services, or Access
A manufacturer, supplier, software company, or other business may sometimes provide:
a product;
a sample;
temporary access;
a trial;
travel or event access;
another benefit.
When such a relationship could reasonably affect how readers evaluate coverage or an endorsement, it should be disclosed.
Receiving a product or service does not guarantee positive coverage.
We should not describe a product as independently purchased when it was provided by the manufacturer or another interested party.
Hands-On Reviews
Doghab distinguishes between:
research-based guides;
specification comparisons;
hands-on testing;
sponsored demonstrations;
manufacturer-provided information.
We do not claim to have personally tested a product unless genuine testing occurred.
If a manufacturer supplied the product used for testing or paid expenses associated with the evaluation, that relationship should be disclosed where relevant.
Paid Listings and Featured Businesses
Doghab may offer businesses opportunities to purchase advertising, enhanced listings, featured placement, or other promotional visibility.
A paid or featured placement should not automatically be interpreted as an independent editorial ranking.
Where payment affects the visibility or placement of a business, product, contractor, supplier, or listing, that commercial relationship should be identifiable when necessary to prevent readers from mistaking the placement for an independent editorial selection.
Paying for promotional visibility does not mean that Doghab guarantees:
licensing;
insurance;
workmanship;
product quality;
pricing;
project outcomes;
legal or code compliance.
Users should conduct appropriate independent checks before entering into a transaction.
Advertisers and Editorial Coverage
Purchasing advertising does not give an advertiser the right to:
control unrelated articles;
prevent accurate criticism;
require favorable product rankings;
remove supported technical findings;
change our correction standards;
present marketing claims as independently verified facts.
Likewise, a company does not need to advertise with Doghab in order to be discussed in editorial content.
Advertising Does Not Equal Endorsement
The presence of an advertisement, sponsored placement, affiliate link, listing, or other commercial relationship should not be interpreted as a guarantee or certification by Doghab.
Doghab does not act as a general quality-certification authority for advertisers, contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, or their products.
Before making a significant construction purchase or hiring decision, readers should independently evaluate information relevant to their project.
Advertising and Privacy
Advertising technologies may involve cookies, online identifiers, or other information used for advertising measurement or ad selection.
Depending on the visitor's location, consent choices, and applicable requirements, advertising may be personalized, contextual, or otherwise limited.
For information about cookies, advertising technologies, consent, and privacy choices, see our Privacy Policy.
Corrections Involving Commercial Content
Advertising or sponsorship does not exempt factual information from correction.
If a sponsored article or commercially related page contains a significant factual error, we may review and correct it according to our Corrections Policy.
Commercial pressure alone is not a valid reason to remove accurate editorial information.
Future Commercial Relationships
Doghab's revenue model may change as the website develops.
If we introduce a new commercial relationship that could materially affect how readers interpret our content, we aim to disclose that relationship appropriately and update this page when necessary.
